Tree safety in schools
August 17, 2014
Many schools throughout the country are implementing a ‘Tree Safety Management Policy’
In the UK the occupier of a site has a duty of care by law to take reasonable steps to prevent or minimise the risk of personal injury or damage arising from the safety of trees on the site.
We have been approached by schools on the Wirral in Cheshire asking for surveys to be carried out and have recently surveyed the trees at Avalon School in West Kirby and New Brighton Primary School.
We charge £250 for a Tree Safety Survey for under 30 trees and can come back annually for a nominal fee. This ensures that the school have a written record that their trees are being managed.
Our reports are backed up by a £1 million indemnity policy.
